Department of Animation & Multimedia

The Department of Animation at Vishwakarma University, established in 2017 under the Faculty of Art and Design, is where students begin to explore the craft of visual storytelling through animation and digital media. The department offers both a four-year multidisciplinary undergraduate programme and a two-year postgraduate programme in Animation and Multimedia, designed to help you develop a strong foundation in the art and technology behind animated content.

During your time here, you will work across areas such as 2D and 3D animation, stop motion, graphic design, and visual effects, gradually building the skills needed to bring ideas to life on screen. Much of the learning happens through studio work and projects, where concepts move from sketches and storyboards to finished visual sequences.

The department is supported by dedicated computer labs and a Light-Box studio, giving students space to experiment with both traditional and digital techniques. The curriculum continues to evolve alongside the industry, combining creative practice with new technologies so that you understand how animation is created across film, television, gaming, and emerging digital platforms.
