The Department of Law was established under the School of Law and Governance, Faculty of Law in 2018 as a centre for legal research and education. The department started with One Year LLM and PhD Programmes and subsequently with Five Year and Three Year UG Programmes in 2019. The programmes are approved by the Bar Council of India.
The department, which is fully devoted to rigorous academics and deep research, through such efforts, we attempt to produce capable and socially conscious legal professionals who are ready to make a positive impact on the legal system as well as society.

Legal education essentially must aim at creating thought leaders and changemakers in society. Lawyers must play an instrumental role in promoting social, economic and political justice. VU Law Journal
The Vishwakarma University Law Journal is a faculty run, biannual, blind peer-reviewed journal of the Vishwakarma University Department of Law. The objective of this Journal is to contribute original, outstanding and socially relevant research to the Field of Law. It provides a platform for academicians, practitioners, researchers, scholars and students to share their views and make effective contributions to legal academia.

VU Legal Aid Clinic
With the vision of aiding the socio-economically weaker sections of society with free legal aid and providing the students of the Law Department with first-hand experience in dealing with the socio-legal issues of the society, the VU Legal Aid Clinic was inaugurated by Mr. Pratap Sawant, The Hon. Secretary, District Legal Services Authority on 26th October 2021. The Department of Law, Vishwakarma University, Pune is committed to the Constitutional Ideals laid down in Article 39A and pledges to carry out various activities, initiatives and research through the VU Legal Aid Clinic
